I got a 720 on Math II, 740 on Lit, and 510 on us history (took it on a whim, i guess i shouldn’t have cause i suck at history). Since Amherst only require two sat II, will they consider the 510? thanks for your time. b

I don't think they would consider it if it doesnt work for your advantage..they'll take your two best scores.

They will do right by you.

They will see the score, but it will only be noted I think. I took two SAT II's in June and was unhappy with my score in Spanish, so I retook that in October when I went in to take Lit for the first time. My scores show up on the Amherst website as Chem: Highest; Literature: Highest; Spanish: Highest; and Spanish: Notational.

There's no way they would hold it against you. For all they know, every other applicant could have gotten a 400 in every other subject test

well i think if you have only 3 SAT scores, both of them will be considered; but if you have four, like areagris did, the lowest one will be "notational only". this is based on my observation of their AC Data system.

But only if they won't consider the third SATII test since they require only two, I have to wonder if they will still cringe at 510 and doubt your skills in history.... How are your history grades in class?

I preface this with... I have no idea what the absolute truth is or what any specific school would choose to do. This being said..

Our college counselor has said that schools look at testing as one piece and will look to your best scores. If they require two, they will look at the best two. A lot of schools also look at each section of the SAT I and take your best scores over multiple tests to "superscore" your best results. Most, however, will not use the same process to give a new composite ACT score.

But saying all of this: You could make a call and simply ask.
