sat ii subjects

how do sat subjects scores affect one's being admitted?
are score of 800 780 and 780 competative?

Honestly, what do you think? And I'm guessing these were in science and math? Or, more likely, this is yet another troll...

i dont know how important is subject
they're for math chem and phy

Yeah they're competitive, but it would have been nice if you had taken one in the humanities.

(I knew they weren't humanities since competitive was spelled incorrectly.) :)

Maybe you could take the English Lit or US History this June? It might not be too late to sign up... Good luck!

if a student takes more than 3 sat IIs, which ones does princeton consider?

the three highest scores, i think

are 740 and 760

Sorry to hijack the thread, but are ASIAN MALE MathII/Phys/Chem 800/800/800 scores frowned upon? (male Korean-Canadian citizen)
Is it better to just keep these scores, or should I take my chances with something like a French/Lit/World History that I'm almost certain I won't get an 800 in?

You know, if I had 800, 800, 800 scores, I wouldn't be too worried about it being a bad thing...

I think they'll take the top three scores if you take more than three tests, so no harm in trying then.

i agree with alfredeneuman. won't hurt to try another one, as long as you don't do an atrocious job on it.

alfredeneuman, I'd say take an SAT II in the humanities. That being said, I think it's more important that the rest of your application demonstrate a broad range of interests.

What about a 900? Would that be bad?

Yes. It would. It wouldn't show enough potential for improvement.

Haha! Those last two posts made me laugh out loud :)

is it bad if your third subject test is a language one, compared to phys/chem/bio? like i'm asian, and im taking the French subject test.

Glad I could make you smile! Somewhere on the Columbia board there's a parody thread titled "chances for success". If you want to really laugh, read it. :)

I think im gonna retake my 800, i am sure i can do better this time! (haha)

I'm taking mathII/phys/french like you, adamonkey. I think don't think there's really any downside to it. My application will already show enough of my math/science side, and I'm sure it's the same for you. An 800 in french though, would turn some heads. At least that's what I'm hoping.
