Hi, I'm currently taking AP Physics, US Hist and Calc right now so I signed up to take the SAT II Physics, US Hist and Math II. I plan to study my butt off for the AP tests but how different is the SAT II's? I heard they are a lot easier than the AP tests and I didn't plan on studying at all. Is studying for the AP pretty much studying for the SAT II? Or are they very different? If so is it worth buying and going through prep books for? I'm aiming for 750's...

I also found out that there's no calculators allowed on the SAT II Physics... lets just say I'm pretty dependant on the powers of a graphing calculator. Should I be crapping my pants right now?

I haven't taken the SAT II Physics, but have talked to a lot of people who have (as well as seen posts about it on CC). The reason calculators aren't allowed is because it's mostly conceptual, and any math is simple math.

SAT II Physics is more Honors Physics based...if you're talking about AP Physics C, there's no calculus involved for the SAT II, but AP Physics B would be great for the SAT II.

I took the Math IIC when I was enrolled in AP Calculus BC....obviously the SAT II is based on Pre-calculus. I would recommend buying some prep books...it definitely wouldn't hurt.

US history SAT II is easier than the AP multiple choice, but I found both to be easier than I exspected them to be. They even shared a question when I took them in May. The SAT II is a little more fact based than the AP, which is more analyzing. Hope this helps you. Good Luck.
P.S. I used my princeton review book for the AP to study for both of them. Additionally, do not buy the barrons SAT II book! It is very inaccurate.
