I recently took the sat last June and scored a 550 which kind of disappointed me. How do I raise that score to at least a 650 by October. I have the official sat study guide or “blue book” and 50 tips by mc graw hill. I don’t want to buy anymore books so my question is how do I improve and what strategies must I be familiar with.
Main thing for math SAT section is just repetition. Even though there will never be two problems that are exactly the same, if you do enough problems then eventually you’ll start to come across more and more that are similar. Just make sure you do a lot of different types of problems and do as many practice tests as possible this summer and september so you are ready for october. If you’re not heading into senior year that’s even better, I don’t seem to have that luxury lol. Also, for any problem you get wrong, especially grid-ins, I found it helpful having friends help me over imessage or in person or something.
Agree with @pikit1991 , just take a lot of practice tests and figure out why the questions you got wrong are wrong
I am in fact going to be a senior so this most likely will be my 2nd and last time taking the sat exam. But yeah I will definitely try more sat math sections and I’ve recently bought Dr Steve Warner’s intermediate book.
Before you go a take practice like crazy, go and study some very basic math. In fact, if you are already a senior, then I´m pretty sure you have covered most (if not all) SAT math topics. The math portion is pretty simple because only tests very basic math principles.
