<p>Hello, I am a 8th grader aiming to be a SET (Study of Exceptional Talent) member.
I am currently getting 700~710 on the math section (using actual papers from the past) and I need to get it to 730 or above in two weeks as I am going to take it this october.</p>

<p>I am so frustrated with myself because I KNOW how to do all of these problems. I am making these silly mistakes. No, I am not dismissing the mistakes as, "Oh, I won't make this mistake next time." I try to identify the mistake and see WHY I missed it. At first it was because I wasn't reading too carefully. Now that I recognized most of my misreading errors, I eradicated most of them. But now I am making these stupid mistakes.For example, I know slope is y2-y1/x2-x1 but for some reason when I'm testing I think it is x2-x1/y2-y1. After I go back and see why I missed them, I WANT TO KILL MYSELF. And my scores fluctuate so badly -_-. I go from making 4 mistakes on 20 question section to making none. Anyways, I've done so much prep and am still making these errors. I've done the blue book, Kaplan 12 practice test, McGraw Hill 4 practice test, McGraw Hill 12 practice tests Princeton review 11 practice tests, Princeton review 4 practice test, and Kaplan 4 practice tests.
Do I need to practice more?
I really want to break that 750 line :((
By the way, I almost never make computation errors.

I think you may want to get familiar with terminology and formula, like the formula for cubic calculation, slope, etc. </p>

<p>How’s your timing on the first 3 tests of bluebook? If you are able to finish the math section with 60% of the time, you are in a great position to ace the math section.</p>

<p>Wait, slope just measures steepness, change in y over change in x. Honestly you shouldn’t be messing up formulas like that.</p>

<p>You might want to read my article on making careless errors in SAT math - it’s posted on this forum. Do a search.</p>

<p>Pay special attention to points (4) and (9) in that post - this may be what you need to get an 800.</p>

<p>Hi, I can finish the test (the 20 question sections) and have about 9 minutes left over. I use that time to check my answers in the medium level questions</p>
