Hi,
I want to apply early decision to CMU’s SCS department. I just got my math 2 sat results and I got a 740. This seems a little low. Will this hurt me? I am registered for the November test, next week, which is apparently acceptable for early decision, but haven’t studied since the October test. Since CMU requires all scores anyways, is it still worth it to retake it and is it realistically possible to bring up my score in just a week?
Thanks
what is your SAT I math score? 50% of class of 2020 SCS students have perfect SAT I math score.
Will having 740 math II score hurt? Yes, but idk how much. This is because the coursework you will receive at SCS will be very heavy in math and the admission officer need to make sure you can handle the work.
I would agree with idkName. You need to show a very strong math background because the SCS curriculum is very theoretical based, which requires a lot of math.
