Sat math level 2 help

I am a junior who is planning to take the sat subject test math level 2.
I am in precalculus currently and have taken math 1050 (college algebra) from a college at age 15. I was recently prepping for sat math level 2 and i have been doing terrible. I always had a+ in math (99/100 in precalc so far) and i do ok on sat math (680+).

Is it normal for me to struggle right now with this? Should I wait till later sprimg before i take the test? Which books are the best for prepping for this exam?

Thanks

There’s a whole forum on this! Good luck.
Here’s my advice:

~Know thy calculator. I found that exam to be heavy on calculator use.

~Lots of practice.

~I used Barrons. I also used College Board’s SAT Subject Test book (gives a practice test).

~Don’t be afraid to take it more than once. The first time I took it, I got a 760. I had prepared a lot. Then, when I was taking some other subject tests, I decided to just randomly try Math II again. Without preparation, I got a 790. (???) It’s much more relaxing the second time through.

~When you practice, use analogous pacing. I think I practiced daily or something…I would just do maybe 5 or 6 problems, but I would do them with the same pacing as what the test would be. I forget the exact numbers, but if it’s 50 questions in 60 minutes, then do 5 questions in 6 minutes. Keep in mind that difficulty level of the given questions and/or practice book you are using sometimes skews this time.

~Move quickly but carefully on the test. And keep in mind that the problems do get harder as you go on.

~Don’t be afraid to skip questions. Try to get through the whole test. Even if there are a few you can’t do, don’t sweat it. The curve is massive. You can miss, like 6 or 7 and still get an 800.

Oh, and make sure to chill out a day or two before. Don’t want to be worn out for the big day!

Memorize the formulas! It will make the test so much less stressful (I speak from experience). For a good formula sheet, try:
