SAT Math

How can I get a 800 on the SAT Math Section I have a 590

umm thats a really big jump in scores... so get really good at math in a short amt of time. so umm figure out what you miss the most questions on and practice that. or pay someone good at math to take it for you ;)

to me, the first step in getting ready to handle the math is to make sure you know the concepts that are covered on the sat. you can find these in the front half of the blue book (i'd give you the citation but my copy isn't nearby).

depending on what grade you're in and what school you go to, you've probably already seen all or most of the concepts tested in the math section. either way, i'd recommend making sure of that first.

then, once you know you're familiar with all of those concepts, you'll know that you know everything necessary to do each math problem you come across. from there, you just focus on learning to unwravel each question, using the basic concepts.

the other approach is just to dive into answering questions without making sure you've got a solid grounding in all the concepts that can appear on the test. the problem with this approach, to me, is that when you see a difficult question you won't necessarily know if the difficulty is from the question's design or from the fact that you don't know the math you're being asked to use.
