SAT Math Prep

I need help raising my SAT math score from a 600 to a 700? I can't get access to Dr. Chungs but I have Grubers and PWN the SAT. Please provides, tips, and study plans. I usually get stuff wrong if I do not understand it.

I'm taking it in October as a Senior but I really never studied for before

Books I have
PWN the SAT
Grubers
Blue Book

Those four books should be more than enough for a 700, maybe even an 800 if you study well and don’t make silly mistakes during the test.

how do I best use them that is the problem?

I never used those books so it’s a little hard for me to say…

You said you usually get stuff wrong if you do not understand it. Does “understand” it mean, “understand what the problem is asking” or “understand the solution?” Getting that down can improve your math score.

can’t understand the concepts

I got an 800 in the math scetion by doing practice tests and then looking at concepts I didn’t know. I have heard of these books, but havent used them. I am sure they will help you understand the concepts. But once you understand the concepts, the key to getting a good score on the math is going slowly and metodically and not making any silly errors.

I suggest you review the concepts first before going over practice tests.

It is hard to review concepts that might be tested on the SAT without having some idea of what they will be. For that reason, it would be hard to review concepts before starting.
Taking tests without reestablishing a foundation might also be difficult.

The best approach I can suggest is to practice with real tests but with open books, no time limits, and in the beginning with … the answer key. It is important to work through every question and understand why one answer is correct and others not. During this phase, the best help will be on this precise forum, as most questions are answered using a couple of methods.

After a couple of tests, one adds the time limits, and stops looking at the answers while taking the test. It is still imnportant to review ALL answers, including the one correctly answered.
