SAT May 2009 Writing

i put no error

can we sum up the no errors

There was one with “For the children, the best part of the cruise was when they saw whales” or something. I thought for a second that “for the children” should be “to the children,” but then changed it to no error. It is no error, right?

i got 4 or 5 no errors. Did anyone else get that

What about the question where it was like "That, I do not like art or blah blah is not the fault of my parents, taking me to art museums seince i was like 10.

taking is wrong

I said “taking me” is wrong.

Does anyone remember this one question from section 10?
It was about celebrating a ritual or something…um
two choices that I went between were …“WITH activities such as dancing blah blah …” and “IN such acitivities like dancing blah blah”

I chose the latter
what’s the answer anyone?

I think for that one I put “such activites as”

I put “with activities such as”

Also what was the last question on section 10 about parallelism. Was it just producing or those of producing?

@ d12345: I changed it to " those of producing" at the last minute because it talks about " costs". Besides, I got to be careful because that is the last question, which is often tricky, and " producing" only is too simple.

What about the Shakespeare passage?

 1. there is one question I chose " Therefore, it confirms that…“. Is that right or the one with " As a result, we can conclude that…” right? Those two are so confusing. The first one might be wrong because of the word “it”; the second is wrong too because it introduces " we" while this passage should be detached.
 2. What sentence did you guys choose to omit? I chose " what about the so-called books of many famous authors" or something like that…

The last Error ID question (the one about him wanting to revise his book on his deathbed) definitely had an error in it.

Did anyone notice choice D? It said something along the lines of “on the basis of not being sufficiently polished”. It’s ambiguous… if you remember the sentence, it could mean that the book was not polished, or it could mean that the man himself was not sufficiently polished.

QED.

there is absolutely an error in the deathbed one. he said he wanted to polish up or something. I don’t know. But it didn’t have a clear reference. It could have been referring to the author or his book. i am certain of this, it was d

^^i put the same

It was actually a little funny… imagine it: he didn’t want to publish his book because he wasn’t sufficiently polished XD

there is absolutely an error in the deathbed one. he said he wanted to polish up or something. I don’t know. But it didn’t have a clear reference. It could have been referring to the author or his book. i am certain of this, it was d

I am also certain… funny but I also can’t remember the exact context. I marked it off for ambiguity…

I put D too. Does anyone remember the question with the applicants applying for the principle job sentence ID

^^ i kinda remember that, there was a singular/plural error with that in the job(s) cant really remember it

I thought there was an error with the “applicants for the position of”
