@Nflpackers96 If you’re referring to w/x, it was not experimental and the answer was 25. And I’m assuming the triangles inscribed in the circles question is experimental because I did not have it.
@mcc123 I would guess a 670.

curve predictions anyone?
reading - 800 800 790 770 750…
math - 800 770 750 740…
writing - 80 78 76 73…

chances that the math curve will be favorable?

The international and the US test were the same. Does that mean they add both results together and then do the curve… And yeah, I know the curve is predetermined, but I don’t believe it.
Charles

I hope math has a good curve lool

Omg glad I’m not the only one that had trouble with the math.

Wow @dopecake so you think the curves are going to be harsh? Usually 2 wrong in reading is an 800, and I was hoping 3 wrong would still be a 780…

I thought overall CR was easier than in March… but a lot of people have said the vocab was a lot harder on this test. I think itll be a pretty average curve

Compared to the March SAT, the vocabulary was a little harder. I got 5 vocabulary questions wrong on the March, I think I got 6 wrong on this one, so not that big of a difference. And the easy reading passages more than made up for it. That said, I believe the two are similar and I believe the curve for March was roughly
800, 800, 780, 770, 750, 740, 730, 710, 700…

my curve prediction is based off the January SAT. the reading for jan was without a doubt harder in both vocab and in the passages and it went 800 800 790 etc. which i thought was ridiculous so you guys are gonna have to hope that more not-so-good-at-cr ppl took may for an equivalent or better curve

for math people were complaining like crazy for the jan and some even thought that it might go 800 800 etc yet in the end it was 800 770 740 etc and personally the jan math was harder so just hope for more bad ppl taking this one

sorry to discourage anyone btw, this is all speculation

Anyone want to take a stab at the curves?

CR - 800 800 790 770 750 740
Math - 800 770 740 720 710 700

Critical reading was awfully easy this time around, for the most part. Math also, although there were a few relatively tough questions. Writing will probably be average, imo.

@dopecake I know it’s hard to convince others that it’s not graded based on how you do relative to others on the same test. But, you have to realize it is a standardized test. You won’t be rewarded for the poor performance of others.

Are you positive that the curve on the SAT is predetermined for every administration? Because I’d imagine the performance of the nation as a whole would have some effect on the curve i.e. if 98% of students got a math grid-in wrong I imagine there would be SOME sort of effect on the math scale.

<a href=“Your SAT Score Report Explained – SAT Suite | College Board”>The SAT – SAT Suite | College Board;

While SAT is rather mum about how it determines its curves, I’m rather certain that curves do get finalized after they receive the results. On their website, they talk about equating the score using statistical analysis – I’m having a hard time imagining what else statistic analysis would mean other than they analyze the results of everyone’s SAT performance. Largely, the averages/bell curves should remain the same from month to month; when CB says that others’ performances do not affect an individual student’s scores, I’m pretty sure (though it is speculation) that they merely mean that there are not easier or harder months (in reference to rumors that “June is the easiest month because that’s when all the slackers take it!” etc)

I think that this month, May, the math overall was just more confusing as the experimental math section
( which must be the new ACT math section they are trying out, but with a SAT twist of harder math subjects and confusing questions) just threw everyone off. You are trying to figure out what is the experimental section and then it was just a confidence loser with the even more difficult math.

Charles.

March curve for CR per @ThanksIKnow
800, 800, 780, 770, 750, 740, 730, 710, 700…

But, I thought that 7 wrong was more like a 690?
You have 7 wrong at 710?

And btw the new SAT is dropping writing. Just threw that in there.

Ok, found the table for CR:

Scroll 1/2 way down for the scores - math is at the top, CR is in the middle.

Charles

@cbw123 7 wrong is a 690ish. 7 wrong =/= -7
you have to account for the wrong answer penalty
6 wrong is a 710

about a week left till the scores come out!

Predictions for my score, because I know you all were wondering.
Math: 730 (2 wrong 1 omit)
Critical Reading: 690 (8 wrong)
Writing: 650 (7 wrong, 9 essay)

Composite: 2070.

Damn that would be sexy. I couldn’t decide between a 10 or 8 essay. I chose 9.
I gotta walk the dogs. Peace.
