<p>From what i've heard, the UC's look at the highest one-sitting SAT score.
On the other hand, (most) privates take the highest scores of each section and recalculate your SAT score.</p>

<p>That's the usual rule. Each college website will tell you for sure.</p>
<p>that is correct. UMich also take a one-sitting score.</p>
