how will colleges view the sat?

will they take the best score from each section? And if your scores vary like 770 on CR the first time I took it and then 670 the second time, will that impact anything?

Most colleges take the best combined score, as in they do NOT have to be in one sitting.

For most colleges it's the highest scores from each section. There may be some exceptions, especially in public colleges, but I haven't encountered such.

anyone have a list of what colleges dont take the highest in each section?

Also, would there be an impact on admissions if i got 770 on CR and 670 the second time?

UCs and Michigan are single sitting; that's all I know of.

As far as the 770/670 thing, it might depend on the school whether or not they see all the scores. Some schools have a paper shuffler that writes out a summary with only the best scores. Others will see all of them. Although they only claim to consider top scores, I would think that seeing a lower score would have a psychological effect - esp. since applicants are evaluated "holistically."

UT also is single-sitting.

washington is also single sitting
