Your stats put you in the pile of students whom, academically, Tufts would love to admit.

If the rest of your application is strong; if you have good extracurriculars; if your essay is not written in crayon; and if your extracurriculars are strong (bears repeating), then you have a very good chance. I repeat the EC thing because it's the big second half of the package that a lot of people forget about.

athena is absolutely right, the extracurricular part plays a huge role. if you're committed to active citizenship and public service then your chance is very high because Tufts has made these points the "hallmark of their education."

I got an ACT score of 29 and hope to try to bring it up when I retake in September. Is 29 a good score for Tufts or does it fall at the bottom of the middle 50% range? My junior unweighted GPA is approx 3.8. My main passion/EC is flying single-engined aircraft ( and for the past six months, learning and playing the Tablas/Indian drums )

I got a 29 and got in, so... You do have a chance with that, but I have a very strong feeling that me being Finnish did have a lot to do with why I was admitted (apparently, among the first Finns EVER to apply to Tufts...). I'd try and bring it up to 32, 33. But really, your ECs also carry a lot of weight with Tufts, so I wouldn't lose sleep over ACT.
