Chances at Tufts and Colby College?

My GPA is 94/100, my school uses the /100 scale. I've taken 6 out of the 7 AP's offered at my school, and am second in a class of 54 (super small school). I have run cross country, nordic skied, and ran track and field for all four years of high school, been a cross country captain for two years, nordic captain for one, and will most likely be track captain this spring. I listed that I've been pretty successful in competition as a nordic skier. I just took the SAT's for the third time Saturday, and I think I can have about a 2100 with a superscore, and have a 30 on the ACT's, and think I can bring that up to a 32ish this coming Saturday. I have two recs that I think will be fantastic. My essay was very good (according to my teachers/family) and my supplement will be alright. I've worked all summer every summer since 8th grade, mostly at my father's boat business (my essay topic). LOTS of hours at work. For the SAT II's, I scored a 730 on US History, and didn't do so well on math, but I'm retaking math 1 and 2 in January and I know that I can score above 700 in both. I believe that I could ski on the nordic team at Colby.

Thanks! I would recommend that you email the admissions offices at the schools you plan to send those scores to and see what they say. I’ve emailed three or four offices at different schools and they all seem to respond quickly with great help!

I would assume that Tufts does accept scores from the January date, and I plan on emailing all the schools I am applying to to ask whether or not they’ll do the same. I scored a 730 on math the last time I took the test, and my best CR score is a 620 (BLEH took it right before a HUGE cross country race, I was super nervous), and writing was a 630, same situation. I did a bunch of prep, especially for the grammar and sentence completion questions, so I’m hoping that my CR and writing scores went up to roughly 700 from the 12/7 test date.

I suspect you’ll get into Colby, and you may get into Tufts if you boost your test scores a bit.

Good luck! :)

You need to get your scores up for both schools. Neither are a sure thing considering their acceptance rates are both around 25%, but writing a fantastic essay is the way to stand out – best of luck!
