SAT Out Of 1600?

I was just wondering how many colleges still look at only CR+M and discard the writing score. Are there still a fair number of good schools that don't look at the score out of 2400 or are most factoring in the writing score?

I am wondering this because I received a 1470/1600, which looks a lot better than a 2120/2400 and an 8 essay.

Could you all just list the schools that you know of that look at the SAT out of 1600?
-Thanks

Your wish is granted:

Many, if not most, schools give more weight to the M+CR because they don’t want a good W score to appear to distract from a lowish M score.

For instance, a 2100 SAT may look good, but if the W score is a 800, then the M+CR is only a 1300 (maybe a 600 M + 700 CR).

However, a 2070 SAT may actually be “better” if the M+CR score is a 1400 (maybe 700 M and 700 CR) and the W is a 670.

But what about this score?

M+CR=1520
M=800
CR=720?

Most schools that stick with the 1600 score is for historical reason. There was no Writing score before 2005. Anyway, most schools would also look at section scores in addition to composite scores. It has been a big argument to even consider the CR+M as 800+700 is different from 700+800 for instance. The CR+M or the whole composite score are more for statistics than for actual admission. You just use those numbers as reference. The section scores are more important.
