I noticed there weren’t any threads for the august sat physics, so here’s one.
How did people study for this? I feel like the prep resource I’m using may not be enough…
@equality4all what are you using? I use the Kaplan and Barron’s books. The latter is much more thorough.
@Amduseus I used Princeton Review for the most part and also used Kaplan for 1 section that PR didn’t include and the practice tests. I heard lots of people use Barrons…I never used it and now I’m feeling bit worried that I didn’t have enough prep
@equality4all I wouldn’t worry about it too much, because although the Barron’s book does include a bit more content, most of it is really niche stuff that you probably wouldn’t need to know on the actual test. The physics curve is very generous so you can afford to miss some stuff as long as your knowledge of all of the things you have gone over is strong.
Anyone know the answers to the two questions referring to the tube and the sound waves?
I used Princeton Review and Crack SAT, I found PR to be very sparse on some topics and too thorough on others. I wish I understood how PV charts work, but PR was horrible at explaining some things
@Unkn0wn1 omg that was hard I didn’t know where to start.
This was much harder than any of the Kaplan or Barron’s tests I’ve taken, actually
@CTMorris1999 Basically that one was increasing the length of the tube causes phase difference, thus interference and a lower/higher volume. But the thing is I saw the 5 cm marked on the side and didn’t read the directions, apparently it said it increased by a total of 10 cm on the side. So yeah, pretty unlucky if thats true.
For the second question I got intensity, i think that one is right.
@CTMorris1999 Also what was the PV chart question? I forgot it, might know the answer.
@Unkn0wn1 ohh ok. I really glossed over waves oops.
