sat physics was tough dec 2011

i find physics questions hard though, how did you feel guys?

I think it’s harder than those I’ve done on the Barron’s, maybe it’s because I’m not good at physics.

Yeah, I was actually expecting to do quite good on the test. Had to leave 9-10 questions blank though because of time. Hopefully I can get a 730+.

what do you think guys about the curve,I found it was the hardest of all the questions i did in my practice test.really hard but hope for good marks

the question about the 2nd law of thermodynamics… what does the 2nd law state ?

Heat may only be transfused from hot to cold source, unless additional work applied.

****… wasnt the second law about entropy increasing with time ?

The second law of thermodynamics distinguishes between reversible and irreversible physical processes. It tells how this shows the existence of a mathematical quantity called the entropy of a system, and thus it expresses the irreversibility of actual physical processes by the statement that the entropy of an isolated macroscopic system never decreases. Equivalently, perpetual motion machines of the second kind are impossible.

^Yup second law is about entropy.

so the answer was the choice that contains the word entropy ?

^Isn’t the choice with entropy said that it’s possible to “decrease” the entropy(I guess, I don’t know whether it’s the total entropy or the entropy of a system)?

I think it’s easier than the October one…

what about the question that mentions peice of glass covered with thin film or somethin like that ?

This test was harder than Linear Algebra to me…
