Hey guys,

I'm currently a junior, and I'm about to take my first SAT in about a week (May 7). I recently took a practice test last week from the Sylvan Learning Center, and I scored a 2220. I was just wondering if anyone knew how representative practice SATs are of the real exam, especially those from Sylvan.

if you really want to know, you could compare the sylvan test with the official tests in the official collegeboard sat book, which is obviously the most accurate material available. most practice tests offered by companies or preparation books tend to be harder than the actual thing though. you’ll have to determine for yourself (unless someone here knows)

The College Board website also has a free, real SAT that you can [download or do online](http://sat.collegeboard.com/practice/sat-practice-test). This will give you an accurate prediction. It is possible that the test you took was real, but certainty is better, and it costs $0.

Companies that use simulated tests tend to give a harder test first so that your score is lower. Your last test with the company is likely to be easier, so it looks like you have achieved a significant score increase.

I agree with PP; take a real test from the College Board so you know for sure.

@SAT writer - Good point, but I didn’t take a series of tests from Sylvan. This was just one test I took to see where I stood.
