SAT Question

I am a senior in high school who will be applying Hamilton RD. Hamilton requires applicant to submit either SAT1 score or 3 exam choices which must include 1 quantitative exam, 1 verbal reading/writing exam and a 3rd exam of student's choice .
Sadly, my score choice SAT1 score is only 1900.

I am thinking about using 1 from SAT2/math1, 1 from SAT1/writing, and a third one from SAT2/language. The combined 3 scores is 2100. If I choose to sending these 3 exam scores, will I have a better chance? Any disadvantage of just sending those 3 scores and NOT SAT1 scores?

Also, does anyone think I have a chance to get into Hamilton RD?
Hamilton is my top choice school. I was concerned about financial aids so didn't apply ED. I was on their mailing list, went to preview day which included tour and info session, went 2nd time for interview which went very well. Will my chance increase if I convert to ED2? Please advise!
I am an Asian female from NY.
My unweight GPA is 3.61 (3.92 weighted)
I am taking mostly honors classes throughout high school including 5 APs.
School activities:
1. model UN- 3 yrs (currently secretary position)
2. self-designed club (president)
3. knitting club- 2 yrs (currently president)
4. track team- 2 yrs
Out of school activities:
1. Volunteering at Non-profit organization (Youth Group)- 4 yrs (100+ hrs/yr, position held: secretary, vice president, currently president)
2. Tutor- 3 yrs (helped elementary school kids with their daily homeworks)

What about just sending all your scores and letting the admissions office pick the best scores? Also…is Hamilton your first choice? If so I would include that in your application. I think you have a chance.

Hamilton has become pretty competitive. My D applied there RD last year and did not get in with higher SAT and SAT2 scores and much higher GPA. She also had good ecs, good recs and good interview. You might want to consider ED2 although I have heard that their financial aid is not the best. Good luck.

Financial aid is not a reason to NOT apply. Hamilton has wonderful financial aid. We are one of the only schools that is both need blind (in admission) and meets full need. Meaning that if you are accepted, Hamilton will make sure that you can afford to come.
As for your scores, you seem to be a rather average candidate for admission. I would stress your personal qualities in your application.

Best of luck and I hope to see you on the Hill next year :)

ognyusa I also think you should consider ed2 if Hamilton is your first choice.

I think you should apply ED2, if you are certain you want to go to Hamilton.

I applied ED2, and got accepted. I think the scores that I sent in were 710W (SAT), 5 (AP English Exam), and 700M (SAT II), and my GPA was 3.68 with 5 APs. Contrary to what cats4u said, Hamilton grants financial aid to about 50% of students here, and if you look on the website, they award financial aid to every student who needs it.

I think you should try the ACT exam, and maybe retake the SAT. My daughter’s SAT scores and GPA were way higher than yours (as in 2100), and she did not get in, and Hamilton is more competitive now than when she applied. Honestly, I don’t think applying ED2 is going to give you a greater chance than applying RD. It would appear to me that everything you are offering is below the Median for accepted Hamilton students, but if you really like the school it never hurts anything to apply–just be sure you have some backup schools that are easier to get into than Hamilton.
