sat question

i have a quick question for my favorite georgetown hopefuls...
i was deferred EA and i am wondering if it is possible for me as a senior to take the SATs again in january? even if it is possible, does it look bad?
give me your opinions please

You should try. i've taken them 4 times, and i didn't seen any difference. Oh well.

Yeah, you should - it'll show Georgetown you're making an effort...you need to register by next week i think.
good luck!

do you think that they will accept them though? because by the time they got there it would be mid-late February. goshhh i don't know what to do.

I'm considering retaking them myself. I feel stupid thinking I'd have to retake a 2190, but I don't know what else there is to do.

they probably would accept them... call and make sure, and tell them you were deferred EA. You could also rush scores once they come out, if that would help.

maybe that is exactly what i will do considering i'm in the same boat as domestican with a 2190, but the only times i took them were last spring. my intelligence must have gone up since then haha...well i will call tomorrow and let you guys know what they say

Just to let you guys know, you aren't supposed to take the SAT more than 3 times. Improvements who told you to take it a fourth time? Colleges really look down on people who take it four or more times. I've even been told that three times is pushing it.

this would be my third time taking it. i also heard that three times was sometimes pushing it, which is why i didn't before. if i can raise my score, however, i might be willing to gamble a bit if they will allow me too.

I've only taken it once. In any case, I'm certain I could raise my CR score to the mid 7's or so.

That being said, I really can't imagine my SATs were the reason for my deferral. I think I may have dropped the ball by not submitting SAT II's (which were very good, but I forgot to send because I thought I had designated schools to send the scores to directly...).

I believe that if you send SATs you send SATIIs, so I do not think that was the problem.

yeah, actually whenever you report your SATs colleges receive a full report of all the SAT I's and II's you've ever taken (at the date of submission)

Oh, I know, but I didn't send them. I designated that I wanted to send my scores for the SAT I that I took in January to Georgetown as one of the four free ones they give you, but I didn't select any school for my June SAT IIs. So... I would believe they didn't receive them.
