i'm a sophomore, and i have a choice of taking SAT reasoning test or SAT World History
i can't take both of them on the same day, so i have to choose...
should i take the SAT as a sophomore or wait until junior year? however, im taking AP world history in may, so i thought it would be easier to just take the SAT WH before i forget all the stuff...
any advice?

You’ll have plenty of time to take the SAT later, but it’ll be good to have 1 SAT Subject Test knocked out of the way. Plus, you’ll have to take the PSAT next year anyways.

hmm…but what are the benefits of taking world history SAT if im not planning to major in humanities/etc.?
thats what im wondering about…

p.s. i understand the benefits of taking the AP test, since if you do well, you can get the AP awards (ie AP Scholar), even if you’re not majoring in any of the exams you took.

if you’re strength in school is not history, definitely take the world history sat if you can be sure that you’ll get 700+

my best subjects in school are math and science and my college counselor warned me not to send all math/science sat ii’s. colleges like to see that 1. you challenged yourself by taking a sat ii in a subject you’re not strong in and 2. that you’re more well rounded and not solely focused in the math/science.

I don’t necessarily agree with xiaohyolee, it’s a common misconception that colleges want to see a lot of breadth. If you are not at all interested in pursuing history in college, what value does that score actually carry.

If you are confident that you can get a really good score then go for it, but don’t take it just to look well rounded if you don’t think you can score well.
