Hi everyone. I took the SAT once in March of this year and scored a 2140 ( 760M, 740W, 640CR). Prior to the test, I did a little bit of studying by taking a few practice tests. I am taking the SAT once again this fall to try to raise my score to a 2200+ (I mainly want to enhance my CR score). What should I do to study? Does studying for the test actually help? And is it possible to raise my score this much, based on how much the rest of you improved the second time you took the test? I am applying to some competitive colleges, so I really want to do well on my standardized tests! Thanks!

My advice is taking several practice tests and going over what you get wrong. Math and writing you seem to know what you are doing; just a little nudge is all you need. I would focus my time on critical reading and try to develop as much “active reading” as possible as opposed to “scanning”. Looking up any words you didn’t know afterwards will help as well.

Thanks a lot!
