Is there anywhere I can find a typical SAT scale? Is it usually constant or does it really vary from test to test? How do sections work for like 800, 750, and 700? For say CR, would -2 be an 800, -4 be a 750, and -7 be a 700? Does anyone know where a chart to all three sections is that shows the usual scale?

That is the average. Depending on the curve, the scores for -1,-2 can change. After the 700 mark, it usually goes down by increments of 10.

Even that scoring scale is pretty unclear though…

Here’s a compilation of past curves, along with an average:

Thanks a lot! That’s just what I wanted!

Sorry for the double post, but I was looking over things. I realized writing doesn’t come with a score. What does each essay score correspond to? Is there anyway to know if like a 76 mc and 12 essay would be an 800?

I know there’s a chart out there on composite writing scores, but I can’t find it at the moment. Generally, two MC wrong with a 12 essay, one MC wrong with an 11 essay, or zero MC wrong with a 9 essay will produce an 800.

Thanks. If anyone knows where the MC score conversion chart is lmk.
