How do you know that Harvard has received your scores from CB? I know they have a portal website but you can't access your account until after you submit the CA application. Is there a number to call or something? Thanks!

Harvard creates a file for a student only after they submit the Common App or Supplement, so it will be extremely difficult for you to find out if Harvard received your SAT scores until you after you have submitted your application. For the moment, you will have to accept CB’s assurance that it was sent.

Do they make an account for you if you’ve only sent the supplement (not the application from CommonApp) so far? I know it takes a while for them to make you an account and I don’t want to be caught past the Nov 1 deadline if my scores aren’t in for some reason.

I ask this because under the My SAT section on CB’s website, it says my scores have 0 recipients even though I have a receipt that says it’s sent.
Thanks! Sorry, just freaking out a little :)

In past years, sending in the Harvard Supplement allowed the file room to create a file for a student and allowed them to track all of your incoming data, as well as schedule an alumni interview.

I see, thanks! It usually takes about a week for them to make an account, right?

It may take a week for them to open your file, but my recollection is that it takes a few weeks for everything to start showing up on the portal website.

They accept the Nov SAT scores for EA, so it should be OK if your scores may be received a little later after the 11/1 deadline (when the Nov SAT test is actually scheduled on 11/5 this year).

From what I can tell (also applying SCEA), Harvard can’t tell you anything until you submit the CA or the Supplement (as stated by above posters). I e-mailed their Office of Admissions and the person who responded seemed to tell me that they’d hold everything they received until a file could be started (after submission of supplement/CA).

I believe Harvard sends you the information for their online portal by email approximately a week once you submit your application. After you sign in the portal, it will, at the very bottom of the page, say one of two things next to your self-reported SAT scores. If its official there will be a parenthesis with the words (official) next to the scores. If not, it will say (unofficial). Note that collegeboard sends off SAT scores only once a week though.
