does your verbal score mean anything to these people or is it just math? And how would taking the SAT while in college look?

Depending on the employer, experienced corporate lawyers (I am JD/MBA) who have been working for ten years or more can still be asked for SAT and LSAT scores.

1500 on a 1600 scale? I got a 1410 , damn

this is just ridiculous.. seriously. i'm about to go register for the freakin sat's again.

whats stupid is us in the college class of 2010 are screwed again. I got a 770M 610V 580W. A 1380/1600 is better than a 1960/2400 and I didn't really care for the writing because most of the schools I applied to said they wouldn't even consider the writing. Now I know my writing isn't much lower than my CR but I didn't take the writing as seriously knowing that my college choices said they wouldn't look at them. If an employer in 2011 asks for my SAT scores, its not like they will say "oh, we are looking at the writing this year".

What happens for people like me, from Canada, that didn't even write SAT's? Am I at a disadvantage?

Internationals, especially europeans don't need to mess with SAT scores. GPA and perhaps school name.

Okay stop worrying lol. As I have already noted DE Shaw is a very special case. Any place that selects 1 in 500 applicants for a job has to be. I doubt anything over a 1400 will put someone at a disadvantage at any ibanks or anything. People who work for DE Shaw (or similar groups) are IMO medalists and basically classified geniuses (many in mathematics, hard sciences etc).

One thing is that many places (particular desks, groups etc) are known to "collect" graduates (even among experienced hires). Its an elitist industry but thats how it has always been.

Dang the class of 2010 always gets screwed I shouldnt have blown off writing (610/630)

If they ask can you tell them the highest scores in each section or just the highest total score? I took the new sats twice and got the same score but there was a 20 point difference in 2 of the sections.

And do SATs matter if you go to graduate school or would they be more concerned about those exams, would there still be a cutoff if you went to grad school or had work experience?

Do these employers frown upon reporting ACTs over SATs?

YEAH, like somebody else asked... do we have to send in HS transcripts and SAT scores when we apply for grad school?!
