if anyone can answer this in terms of their knowledge or experience it would be greatly appreciated.

i am surprised at my score on the latest SAT test where i did not score a high math score when i felt i got an 800 or close to that. is hand scoring a good idea or do you think collegeboard just gives the same score back to you?

im am almost positive i only got 1 wrong ...maaaximum 2 and i got a 710M ....... my previous sat i felt the same way and got a 780M so im kind of puzzled

Do you think you got more wrong because of scantron complications? The most probable cause was that you just missed more because the test is all about tricks and traps. I got a 760 M when I was positive I got 780 or 800. I'm sure I just made a stupid mistake somewhere I didn't know about.

alexmartin- do you live in philly? cuz i know a kid named alex martin from philadelphia and i just got really freaked out seeing that name on these boards

I was very positive that I only got about 4 wrong on the math section of the October administration, but my math score proved to be contrary to that. I used the hand scoring service back in June when I was a little skeptical about my scores, and ETS just sent me back a letter saying how many I got wrong in each section, almost like a score report. I believe it's a true waste of money, and I've never heard of anyone getting a higher score from using the hand scoring service. It is yet another greedy ploy of ETS to suck more money out of our pockets. Most likely, they will send you back a letter saying that there were "no errors found." Personally, I don't think they even hand score it if you ask me haha.

I just read a book called 1600 Perfect Score and it said that if you missed less questions they count for more. So missing 5 questions may mean a loss of 100 points. But if you have an average score (500-650) than the points count for less, maybe ten or so points per question. I'm not sure if this is accurate but it sounds logical ( for the ETS that is. )
Hope that helped.

I got 800m on last SAT and this time it was like 690!!!!! What the F#$@? I don't know wat happened there, was it b/c it was rainiing that day or something????
