I need to get my sat score up because without that none of my college dreams can come true. The highest score I’ve gotten is an 1150 which is awful for the schools I like. I’ve been studying since September. Any tips on what to do for my next sat june 2nd?
Definitely keep on studying. Khan Academy is a great tool for practice questions / test. Keep on taking the test whenever it’s available. I wish I took it more than just the one time I did, I only got 1200. I could have gotten a higher score if I studied!!
I was basically in your shoes when I was a senior in high school. Basically the year that they changed the entire format of the SAT, I was writing college apps so all my prior preparation was for nothing. Nonetheless, there is always the ACT, which in comparison to the new SAT, I excelled in. So maybe try out the latter and see how it goes.
You can:
–Study over the summer and re-take the SAT in the fall.
–Study over the summer and try the ACT in the fall. Some people do better on the ACT.
–Look at test optional colleges and if affordable (run net price calculators) include some on your application list https://www.fairtest.org/university/optional/state
–Refocus your college list to match your academics (including standardized test scores). You need to expand your horizons and recognize that there are many wonderful schools out there where you can have a great 4 year experience and get where you want to go in life.
Also in another post you said you had a 1220 SAT and in yet another post you said you already took the exam 3 times. If the June test would be your fourth try at the SAT that seems to be enough. I would try the ACT.
When you ask the same/similar question in a lot of different pieces people don’t get all the relevant information to give you their best answer.
