So, I'm not going to do well on my SAT Physics test. I took the equivalence of AP Physics 1 sophomore year, and am currently taking AP Physics C. The only things I'm going to really know on the test are kinematics, because I didn't see the actual topics when I registered. Is there still any chance I could get accepted to MIT? I am taking a rigorous schedule, and I'm an intelligent student.

So I’m in exactly the same boat as you. I made the mistake of taking SAT Physics with no preparation and very little E/M background (I knew a few basics on circuits, Ohm’s law etc.), but with an AP Physics C - mechanics background and still scored 740 on it, and I’m at MIT now.

If you do go to MIT, you’ll likely be taking an E/M course anyway (8.02 or 8.022) unless you can test out of it.

You can also try the chemistry or biology subject tests if you are stronger in those areas.
