Hi all - My son took Math II subject test when he was in 8th grade and got a good score. Will colleges look at it as the test was taken before high school or they would want to see a more recent score? He is a sophomore and is taking a calculus class in community college so is the SAT score important for college admission purposes? Thank you!
You can ask the colleges to confirm. I will tell you that when I was applying to colleges 4 years ago, in the days when Subject Tests were required by more colleges than currently, none of my targets had an issue with me submitting Subject Tests from 8th grade.
The proper time to take Math 2 is after pre-calc/trig - it doesn’t cover calculus or later topics. I can’t imagine any school having an issue with an applicant taking it at the proper time.
SAT scores are an important part, but still just a part of the puzzle in any college admissions process.
