I am applying to MIT however I am currently in a dilemma as I was only able to take the sat subject tests ( math II and physics) once and at a really bad time as a family member died the day before the test. I currently have a 740 in math II and 680 in physics. However, I am in Calculus BC and AP Physics C this year and previously got my school’s physics and calculus award.
I really want to take the SAT I as I know that I am gonna raise my score which will help me with a lot of other colleges ( I currently have a 2080) but I also am worried about MIT.
Are you applying this year (i.e. have you already sent in your application?)? If so, there isn’t much you can do, other than mention your circumstances in your Midyear Report, just so they know. If you are applying next year, then just take the subject tests again.
MITer94 is NOTcorrect. MIT accepts January scores for applications due January 1st. I think that you shouldn’t worry about your SAT2 scores. If MIT doesn’t accept you, it won’t be because of one test score. They like to see that you can handle the work at MIT, but there are other ways to prove academic preparedness. And your rigorous classes and awards can accomplish that same goal.
^Right, but the OP says he wants to take the SAT I – if he’s applying this year, he needs to choose between the SAT I and SAT II administrations for this month.
