SAT Subject Tests for Emory

I know the admissions says that SAT Subject Tests are only considered if you send them, but are they recommended? Would not taking the SAT Subject tests hurt my chances at going to Emory? I'm only asking this because U of Chicago, my other priority college, does not seem to care too much about the SAT Subject tests. I was wondering if Emory is the same.

are u sure uchicago doesn't care about subject tests? I think they care more than emory lol.

From all the information I've gathered over the internet, U Chicago does not seem to care about the SAT Subject Tests. Even on collegeboard, it says Chicago doesn't even recommend them for application.

This is incorrect. The University of Chicago asks for SAT or ACT scores. See "Required Materials" on the University of Chicago website at: University of Chicago College Admissions | First Year Applicants.

Emory also asks for these scores.

I believe the OP means the SAT II, which Emory doesn't require. If you take them for another school and do well, it certainly wouldn't hurt your Emory app.

another5005: could u give me a link to the place(s) where u saw that for uchicago?

Chicago does ask for test scores, but Dean of Admissions, O'Neall, has publicly stated his disdain for standardized test scores. Thus, UofC may not place as much weight on them as does Emory.

Have official SAT Reasoning or ACT scores sent to the University of Chicago from the testing agency, even if your scores appear on your transcript. We do not require any SAT Subject Tests.
