SAT subject tests

Hi all. So, I've recently been introduced to Georgetown's School of Foreign Services, and I am heavily considering applying in January. I've already applied to a few other schools and received deferrals to RD, but I've heard great things about SFS so it's definitely a top contendor.

My question: I've already taken 2 SAT subject test scores (not great lol), but I was planning to retake my SAT in January to improve my composite score. Will I be reprimanded if I only send in those 2 scores? I'd just like to know if it's worth my time to finish this app if they'll put me in an automatic "NO" pile for only sending 2/3 tests.

Thanks

For EA they forgive you for having two but RD they’re like, “There’s no reason to not have 3.”

But they aren’t officially required. I’m sure people have gotten in with 2.

@CSIHSIS thanks! I just think my efforts would be better concentrated in trying to raise my SAT score to that 2100 range.

Should I send an explanation of this along with my application? Or have my GC slip it in my letter of rec? I just reeeeeally don’t want to be penalized because of it.

I think it’s better to focus on a higher SAT score too. Don’t bother explaining it because they make you list the dates of your tests so they’ll see that you took the January SAT.

What is your two part SAT? I actually think it would be more beneficial to take SAT II scores as they recommend if your two part is 1400+.

Thanks, I definitely think it will be more beneficial that way as well CSIHSIS.

My combined CR + Math is not 1400+, but i’m for sure that it will be after the January SAT’s. I can’t afford a prep class so I bought/downloaded a ton of guides and books etc. But I plan to write fantastic essays so hopefully that and higher SAT’s will put more pluses in my column.

I got in with a 1370 and three horrendous subject test scores. It’s not all about the scores.

sorry but @askBoston‌ what exactly is your definition of a horrendous subject test score?
