SAT Subject Tests?

Hey guys! First time on CC but definitely not the last! Alright, on to my question.

So, I'll be taking the SAT in a week but I feel like I'm going to end up taking it again. However, my friend brought up the fact that a few of the colleges I'd like to apply to require/recommend taking at least 2 SAT subjects tests. My question is, what SAT subject tests do y'all feel are simple/easy to study for. Here's a little background for you:

Took AP World History last year; got a 4 because I bsed the last 2 essays

Currently taking:
AP Chemistry (pretty sure I'll end up getting a 2)
AP US History (aiming for a 5)
AP English Lit (aiming for a 4)
Pre-Cal/College Algebra Dual

Like I said, I know for a fact I'm going to take the SAT twice because I am not prepared for the SAT in a week. What Subject tests do you suppose I take and why? Keep in mind, I'm still a junior but I'd like to finish all my SATs before my last semester as a senior (2014). ALSO, SINCE I'M TAKING THE SAT DURING JANUARY, DO YOU THINK I SHOULD RETAKE IT IN JUNE OR TAKE IT IN MARCH?! I have finals the last week of May/June but the middle of March is a TON of school work. HELP?!

Hey! So, most of the more prestigous schools require 2 - 3 subject tests. Which tests you take largely depend on what your intended major is - for example, many engineering schools require Math II, Physics/Chemistry, + one of your choice. If you have a “your choice” test, just take what you’re comfortable with (feel you can score highest on). (i.e. I took Math II, Physics, and Literature for an engineering major.)
If you aren’t prepared for the SAT, you might want to put off the re-take until June, but that really depends when you want to take your subject tests done. Most people find it ideal to take the subject tests in May or June, when the subject is still fresh in their mind.
Remember, the key is to take lots of practice tests! Best of luck.

Take Math II, easiest thing ever. That being said, if you don’t get an 800 that’s not good. I would also take the US history subject test since you said that you’re aiming for a 5. I would take it in June just because that gives you more time and that’s after the AP tests so your English components will be more prepared after studying for APEL.

I would recommend taking the SAT Subject Tests in June after you have finished your AP exams. The SAT Subject test in US History should be a natural after studying for the APUSH exam where 50% of your grade will rely on multiple choice questions. Might as well get two for the price of one.

As for Math, try a released College Board test for Level 1 and a similar test for Level 2. After scoring, you might find one test is more to your liking.

I also recommend the May SAT as you will have more time to prepare and the May administration offers the option of the Question and Answer service which would be helpful if you took it again next fall.

Best of luck!

This is what I’m gonna do. I’m taking Bio (m or e) and History subject tests in May, and since I’m also taking the APUSH exam and AP Bio exam, it makes sense. I’m taking the June 1 SAT because my finals are the 25th lol, so I have time after SATs to prep for my finals :D
