When to take subject tests?

I am a sophomore right now and I was wondering when I should take the SAT subject tests.

As far as math goes, im in Pre-Calculus right now. I would like to take both math I and math II so when should i do this? i was thinking of taking Math I this year - is that a good idea or not?

Also, I think the other two subjects I will do will be English and US history. I am taking APUSH next year, so I will probably hold off on history. I am also going to do AP English next year, so should I hold off on that one too?

Also, will I be okay taking only four tests? I know some people like to take like 6 so they can just cancel out their bottom three or something.

if you are strong in math, take Math 2, since it has a much easier curve. Yes, take US History and Eng Lit next year.....particularly in May since you will be in the middle of studying for both, and you can retake in June if necessary.

What about AP sciences?

You don't need six; 3-4 high scores in different disciplines is plenty.

It is recommended that you take the test when you are studying the subject. At my kids' HS, folks who have just studied biology take the SATII test then, even tho it's June of their freshman year & most do well. The school recommends that most kids take it, if they are getting an A or B in the course.
From what I've read, SATII math2 is mostly pre-calculus. My son made the mistake of taking math1 & did worse on it than when he took math2. He took Math2 in the fall of senior year & was fortunate that they were reviewing all the pre-calc stuff in both physics C & AP Calc AB, so everything was fresh in his mind when he took the exam.
Folks are split about how exhausting it is to take 3 subject exams on the same day or to take fewer. My son took 1 as a freshman, 3 as a junior & one as a senior. He did admit it was pretty tiring taking 3 in one day as a junior but did well anyway.
It's important to try to take tests in different fields--one math, one social science and one science (for example). Which subjects depends on what field you're interested in--the highest # of scores any school I've read of requires is 3.

I reallly don't want to take a science test because I'm really not good at science. So far I have taken Bio, and Honors Chem. Next year I am taking physics, and the year after that I am taking AP Bio.

Do I really have to take a science?
I am considering a major in political science/international relations.

I don't think you need to take a science SAT II unless the college you're applying to requires it. I think you should take the Math IIC after or around you've Pre-Calculus (that's when I took it). Same goes for US History and Literature. Good luck!
