I'm still a high school junior, and I am planning to either go into molecular biology, biochemistry, or biomedical science. I was wondering what SAT II tests I should consider taking to help me with applications, and if colleges really take those scores into consideration. I'll probably be staying in-state for college, but I'm still going to apply to a couple of top tier schools.

Some schools require or strongly recommend SAT subject tests (2 tests are typically recommended). However, even if schools do not require subject tests, they can be a good way to showcase your skills in a particular area. Many schools participate in Score Choice for subject tests, so should you deem a score unsatisfactory, you don’t have to submit it. Even those schools that do not participate in Score Choice typically place emphasis on only your top 2 scores. Be sure to check the policy of each school you plan to apply to.

I recommend these tests with one warning: be sure to double check each school’s policy as some schools or divisions of schools require/ recommend subject tests in particular areas.
