I don’t know much about the SAT subject tests. What are they good for/are there reasons to take them? Thanks!

You’re welcome
Don’t worry, I understand how that works
I’ve read about them plants, but I still don’t understand if, say, you should take both the AP and SAT in a subject you want to go to college for.
I know the SAT subject tests are more used for placement and AP for credit (I think, though I really have no clue), so is there one that’s better to take them the other depending on what you want to major in, etc.
SAT subject tests are important to take for selective colleges; selective colleges will essentially expect to see at least two SAT subject tests. AP tests are potentially used for credit (though not every college gives credit for an AP test), and as a check that the grade you got makes sense (i.e, that you didn’t get an A because the class was just really easy at your school).
You’ll want to take at least two SAT subject tests if you’re planning to apply to selective colleges even if you take the corresponding AP tests. In fact, it’s a pretty good idea to just take the SAT subject tests for the APs that you expect to get a 5 on. Though, you can also of course self study for subject tests.
Thank you! That’s really helpful.
They are easier than the APs, and if you’ve already taken the class for that subject, extremely easy to study for. If you’re not good at SAT/ACT tests, but still want more objective numbers to embellish your application, they are great.
I am homeschooled so I take the subject test after every class that I do well in, to show that I actually am proficient in that subject lol. They dont trust homeschoolers
