Is it better to send in the SAT subject tests (since they recommend them) even if they're not so good or to leave them out altogether?

how bad is "not so good"?

when you send in your SAT scores the collegeboard will automatically send the score from every SAT you've ever taken, so they will see them. if they aren't good i don't think it'll really hurt you. just retake them or take other ones to do better on so you can impress them. i don't think it can really hurt you if they aren't high though since they aren't required.

Ok, my scores are 750 Chem, 750 MathIIC, and 610 physics. The last one is the punch to the face. And when I meant send everything, I meant like all the subject tests plus my 2250 SAT I as opposed to just sending my ACT, which is a 33.

i would say to send the SAT scores too, 2250 is a good score, as are your 750s. i mean this is just my personal opinion but i don't think the one 610 will hurt you.

But do retake, right?

it couldn't hurt (assuming you don't score LOWER than 610) if you have the time/means to do so.

Should I also retake Math IIC? I kinda don't want to, despite it being less studying, still studying involved. And yes, I'm also positive I can do better than 610. Also, what would happen if I chose to take a different subject test?

beanies, I highly doubt that 610 will do any damage at all. I've been accepted to NU and one of my SAT II scores was a 570 in English Lit. Schools realize every kid has their "test-days" and their "off-days" and usually try to give students the benefit of the doubt. On top of that, you're taking the initiative to even take SAT II's that aren't even required. However, if I were you, I would retake that Math II. 800 is a nice number and is VERY possible to acheive on that test. I think another reason why NU forgave me for the 570 was because I had 3 other SAT II's that were above 750. You've got two big numbers next to that 610 so there really isn't much to worry about even if you get lazy and not retake that exam. Best of luck.

a 610 in physics will probably not hurt ur admission....but if u have time, u may retake it. Getting a 700+ in physics is not that hard u will be better!

Thanks. My college counseler says to just retake the physics, so I guess I'll do that. I might give a shot at Math IIC as well, since you can take up to 3 in one sitting.
