Hi everyone!
Probably is a stupid question, but I’ll ask it anyway.
If a school accept the SAT superscore, and suppose someone’s score are:
800,200,200
200,800,200
200,200,800
The superscore is 2400.
My question is : Although the score is perfect, does the fact that he sucks in all 3 tests influence the final decision for the admission?
I think that any admissions officer who saw those results would have some questions about how this happened, as - I would be inclined to guess - might be the College Board organization itself.
That was just a silly example, maybe a bit exaggerated
I’m asking in general : does the score of any single test influence the admission even if the superstore si great?
Hypothetical questions like that are meaningless. Nobody has every gotten into college based on a hypothetical testing situation. Higher scores are better than low ones. Here’s a more realistic scenario (I’ll stick with just Math+CR): 1) You get a 650 M, 750 CR on first test; 750 M, 650 CR on second; Superscore=1500, but single-sitting composites remained same, at 1400; 2) Another student gets 700s on both sections, both times; 3) third student gets 750 on both sections, both times. If a school super-scores, you technically have the same score as the third student. I have to suspect that he or she would be seen as a little stronger, but you have demonstrated that you have similar aptitude (which the tests ostensibly assess). When you are applying to highly selective colleges, these three separate hypothetical scenarios won’t be judged very differently. All three students have cleared the basic bar, and other factors will play the deciding role.
