hey guys,
I took the march sat and got my score back just making it over 2k. This was my second time. I was very morose about it becuase ion practice tests i got 2200 and i defintely though i got over it this time, bu ti was no where close. This is my second time and going on my third. Is it even possible for me to break 2200 anymore? The third time is going to be my last but i dont noe what to do anymore. can someone help?

well 1st time I took it I got a 1780, by the third time I ended up with a 2000 so yes, it is possible!

2200 is a very excellent score, though if you are aiming for Ivies or top schools, yeah, I can understand how you’d want higher…probably a 2300+. That said, how about studying and practicing until you are consistently scoring where you want before taking the actual test your third and final time?

You truly have to be a master to get over 2300. And that means there really can’t be any concepts you don’t understand. If there’s even one type of question you don’t get, then you shouldn’t take the test yet.

You probably want to get 800s on at least one or two categories. Or at least 750 on everything. Find out what your strongest subject is and make sure you get an 800 on that section (or at least like a 770-780).

@pwc
I think the OP means that she scored above 2000 but below 2200, the usual scores (s)he gets on practice tests.

Now it’s just practicing, 'cause it seems you’ve got the strategies down. I went from a 2150 to 2380 with 3 weeks of self-prep, so anything’s possible :)

Ah, re-reading…yeah, sorry, got mixed up.

Well, so you’ve been getting 2200ish on practice tests but got a bit over 2000 on the actual test. I think getting back to a 2200 is absolutely possible. You may even break it. You’ve already shown you have the ability to get 2200, so the question is…what happened differently on the real test?

Was it nerves? Was it one particular concept that really made you stumble on the real test? Review that concept.

Keep practicing, but not just blindly. Don’t just do a bunch more practice tests. You need to analyze your mistakes and find out the trends. Are you missing specific types of questions (say math function questions, vocab questions, parallelism questions)? Identify your weakest area and focus on one concept at a time rather than practicing everything at once.

kk ill keep studying and wont give up! you guys have motivated me and now i think i can really do it even though its my last time taking it! thank you!
