SAT Verbal Help

I am quite dissapointed...after only getting a 580 verbal.

I took a practice test and got 630...gosh.

Is there...and i do mean is there ANY WAY that i can get a 600 in December SAT???
If I study like crazy from now on until that date...or is it too late???

Any suggestions on improving my verbal score will help a lot, thanks.

I got a very good verbal score, and this is what I did to prepare:

Take an article from Time, Newsweek, New Yorker, etc. (NOT People or Seventeen or something like that) and read through it at your own pace. Highlight words you don't know. Look them up. Then, ask yourself the following questions upon completion: What tone is the author using? What is the main point of the article? What point is the author trying to get across? Does the author use specific sources to get these points across?

After you have read the article at your own pace, looked up the unfamiliar words, and answered the questions, work on timing. For passages that are equivalent in length to those that are on the SAT, you should be able to read them in no more than one minute's time.

This helped for me, hope it helps for you!

I would assume that if you missed like 2-3 less questions...u will get 600, so don't lose hope like boredofeducation said...if you do a few more practice tests i think it will help too...

best of luck~

Yeah, you can do it. What part of verbal is keeping your score down? Or is it across the board?

yeah i am in the same situation

580 on verbal, and i want a 600+

:(
