SAT veryyyy important?

I am international student and am planning to apply to universities in us for English and journalism major. Even though our school does not provide GPA, I have scored good enough grades in my classes, took elective english and have a long and apparently strong EC along with 2 very good recommendation from English teacher and other subject teacher and also one personally good recommendation from my principal (dean or headmaster whatever you call) but the low point is my sat score which plainly sucks, even though I scored good in prac tests the real thing does not work for me. Does that affect my chances much? Is it like impossible to go to a university like UC or Wisconsin or Iowa or Indiana?

Bump please!

You may be able to get into some of the less competitive UCs, but, remember, applications are due TOMORROW.

Are Santa Barbara, Santa Cruz and Davis included in less competitive UCs?

What exactly is your score? Give us something to work with. I’ll rank the UCs for you. And are you sure you want to major in English/journalism…? I’m just wondering because I don’t even think my own writing is that great and I’m a native English speaker. o_o
