Chance me, please?

For UC Santa Barbara

-I have a 3.96 GPA and a 1610 on the SATs.
-I have not done any EC's but I have participated in some volunteer work.
-I've taken 3 years honors English, but I believe two of them do not qualify as honors under the UC system, so that's irrelevant.
-I'm Hispanic and live in the central valley area of California.

I know there is far more to an application than just these things, but I was wondering what you think based off just this? I know this school is a little out of my league, especially with the selectiveness and high number of applicants, but I've wanted to attend this school since my freshman year; it's my dream.

What do you think my chances are? I know you see these posts all the time, but I would appreciate so much if you would take the time to give me your opinion.

Thank you. :)

I have my fingers crossed until March! (acceptance/rejection month)

GPA is fairly solid (is it W or UnW and how many honors does your high school offer?). SATs are weak but you know that–what is M + CR, that matters more. All you can do now is wait and see how it shakes down. If you did great first semester senior year, I would forward those grades ASAP along with a letter saying how much you want to attend. Can’t hurt, probably won’t help unless you are on the cusp. With what you wrote, the cusp is as close as I can predict. Good luck!

I’d say good chance since this is California and being Hispanic is a plus if you’re applying to colleges. I got in with a 3.7 GPA and 1600 SAT, but I’m not hispanic
