<p>i decided to apply to harvard along with couple brave souls from my school
Compared to other students, my sat score out of 1600 is same (740CR/770M) but my writing is 670!!</p>

<p>I took test 4 times (three in a row junior year and once in october senior year) and raised my score by around 200 pts over the summer...</p>

<p>But my sat writing essay score is ALWAYS 8!!! </p>

<p>I was born in another country so english is my second language and i am first generation college student... would this help or no?</p>

<p>my older brother is the same. perfect score on Reading and Math however, he got a 590 on the writing portion. he still got accepted at harvard though. so give it a shot.</p>

<p>you just make sure that your personal statement is superb.</p>
