now i just got the SAT os on my TI 84, and i have to say that it's one of the best programs i've used in a while. All the things that were screwing me up and wasting my time are now gone in an instant, but i was looking over the ACT prohibited calculator list and i was wondering could it make my test invalidated

Because it says that not calculators with built in Algebra functions
and i guess it does do some algebra functions

And even if i were to use it and it was prohibited what would be the worst case scenarios. Have any of you use it? What are my chances of getting caught if i did use it?

Yeah, I was wondering about that as well. The person who made the program said it wasn't a violation of the rules but I think he was talking about the SATs.

What are "algebra functions" exactly? Would a program that factors using the quadratic formula be considered illegal? It's called ACT, and my math teacher transferred it for me...

I used the SAT_OS program on my TI-83+ on the October ACT and it helped A TON! I used it primarily for those distance/midpoint problems, which alone saved me a good five minutes. It's safe to say I wouldn't have gotten a 35 on the math section without it.
