SATII Biology MAY

yup i remember from barrons, haha we took the same test cory

pretty sure climax community has stable species cause climax communities dont change for long long times

Is the bio curve around the same as the USH curve relative to the # of questions? It takes quite a bit wrong to go under 700 right? How many wrong would a 750 be?

the curve is very steep, 750 is only like 7 wrong

alright that's good. I'm counting 4 so far, but it could be as many as 8, which would still be pretty ggood for me. As long as i'm around 750.

Does anyone remember how the question for huntington's was worded? mother had none of it in her family, was father Hetero or Homo for it?

mother's family had no history
huntingtons is dominant
father was heterozygous

i believe

I agree with most of ooka's answers

I'm not sure but could someone explain why the ultrafilter one is virus? I put bacterium...

I also think most of our food comes from grasslands, I mean wheat, rice, corn, other grains etc aren't grown in tropical rainforests, and tropical rainforests have a much lesser biome distribution than grasslands. It could be temperate decidious but I guessed grasslands anyway.

I've already missed 2-3 I think =/

For the last one (M) I put that some bacteria developed resistence since answers like that are usually correct but normal levels make a lot more sense

On one of the core questions I didn't read one dish was on its side so I missed the gravity answer, although the other one was touch for sure and the third answer was regulated by hormones

Pretty sure I missed some PTH ones since I hated that graph =/

For a genetics one with a huge cross I put I II and III not sure about that either

I hope -6 > 740

I took E...always thought I would be taking M, but then on the drive to the test I did both the E and the M on a PR practise..did way better on E

*** was the one with the squirrel (or some other animal) signaling an alarm cry when predator is near (it was at the start..i've never learnt behavioural biology)

yikessssss. I wish I took E. I got a lot of those correct....M...:[ I'm scared.

E is a LOT easier.... it was for me anyway, because M stuff was last year (grade 10) and E stuff I just learned from a prep book before the test

and what was the one with individuals 5 or 6? I put only 6, because it didnt say whether the allele is dom/rec

did one of the questions ask which are on the same trophic level or which are not?

The squirrel sounding an 'alarm' to others, possibly endangering itself was ALTRUISM.

Huntington's disease is dominant, so you only need one copy of the allele to get the disease. I forgot if the dad had it or not. If he did, and I believe mom's family was clean, the kid's got a 50% chance.

on E? yea.. there was some 5L glass container that they put inside 5cm of soil, then 1/4 of the bottom surface area was covered by a rotting piece of wood...then they put in grass, clovers, salamanders, crickets (or grasshopper, not sure), and earthworms. AFter, they put the tank by a window (sunlight) and sprinkled the soil with water persistantly to keep it moist to the touch. THere were a few questions about it..one of them asked how many trophic levels there were in this community. It was three (producer=plants, 1st consumer =earthworm/cricket, 2ndary consumer=salamander)

Also, there was a question that asked what woulld happen with the O2 and CO2 levels if a top was put on...does anybody remember what they put for that?

damn..i got the squirrel one wrong..also skipped on the deutrosome/autrosome one (*** are deutro/autro???)

vadox:

It had to be 5 and 6, since the trait is autosmal recessive both parents have to contribute an allele to a zygote in order for the child to have the trait

Definitely!!!

@lalala06: i guess it asked what are not
i chose the wolf and sheep one

wow, im so dumb, i put what were on the same level
