SATII Biology MAY

@ookanuba

I missed virus-ultrafiltration, the uric acid thing(i hate myself!)
I skipped the gravity tropism...

i dont agree with you on the tropical forest, come to think of it, apples and stuff they're all deciduous.
And the Tay Sachs, i chose ribosomes cause it was saying that it had inability to form an enzyme, which is a protein...which is formed by ribosomes

The Tay-Sachs question was poor. Sure the lysosome is what breaks down the lipids, but they need enzymes. Where are these enzymes made? The ribosomes. The answer was probably lysosomes though.

wow so now i got nine wrong :(

wow nice compilation of answers, i agree with all except grasslands and possibly the gravity one

what do you say regarding the grasslands question?

tropical rainforest

Gravity is definitely the answer...I was hesitant, but considering the circumstances. Light, Gravity, and Touch. I know it was awkward, but it definitely was gravity. Grasslands...think of all the grains that they produce, Rainforests isn't the answer...On the Bio SparkChart...it states that grasslands are the primary agricultural region.

@tony:ohh come on... what do humans get from ther tropical forests, in terms of food ?

definitely not light because there can be no reaction to light if light is not present. Touch didn't really make sense.

lol 1MX i really hope you're right because i chose grasslands too....

in the gravity seed question.... the petri dishes were placed in the dark so light had nothing to do with the problem... since they were placed on their sides, its gravity.

haha 20 million tons of bananas for one thing @714

100% Rainforests are silly. They only give exotic fruit. Think of Grassland: wild grass, hay, corn to feed livestock/chicken. Just about every grain that you eat...the food pyramid has 8-10 servings grain and like 3-4 fruit; how could it be rainforest?

Do you live off of bananas?

@tony: what about the apples, oranges, and most of the fruits?

most abundant, didn't imply most used. and do you live off hay?

1MX sounds right, i remember seeing the food pyramid somewhere and the base was like corn and bread..

question bout fungi: 3 choices ... were they II. parasites III. decomposers? cant remember what I was

in barrons it actually said the marine biome provides most of the food production....that wasn't a choice though. Ye it's probably rainforest, contributes around 20% of the Earth's food according to barrons

@misschatter
they certainly are decomposers

misschatterbox, for the fungi, I'm pretty sure the answer was 2 and 3, parasites and decomposers. Foot fungus is a type of fungal parasite, and the fungi in the forest are an example of fungus as decomposers.

So the climax community answer was the stable choice? I've never read the term "climax community" in my AP Biology textbook
