hey, what would my score be roughly if i got 7-10 wrong and omitted nothing?

holy **** i feel so screwed. i havent studied at all for this test because i figured the AP Bio would prepare me enough and nothing here sounds familar to what i have studied so far. i need a Subject book right away

i don't remember whether or not this question was on the test, maybe it was in one of the practice tests i was taking:

stomata close their leaves to prevent the loss of .....

it would be water, right? or i was thinking CO2 because i think CAM/C4 plants close their stomata in the day to prevent its loss.
just wondering.

I don't think this was on the test...but since I'm studying for AP tomm...

Yes Stomata are closed off by guard cells in order to prevent water loss
Plants also take in CO2 for use in Photosynthesis through their stomata
Its is like a trade off system really...a plant must sacrifice water to evapotranspiration in order to acquire necessary CO2 molecules

Also C3 plants are normal basic plants
C4 Plants are specially evolved with waxy cuticles and more efficient usage of their stomata
CAM Plants actually seperate the process of collecting CO2 (@ night) and combines it into molecules of carbon containing acids which it will use in daylight to make energy

Hope that helps :)
Rosh

I think you got C4 and Cam plants really mixed up. Read your review book. No offense.

Also, waxy cuticles are found in lots of plants, not just C4 and CAM.

Dude I take no offense what I said was entirely right
CAM stands for Crassulacean acid metabolism thus it creates carbon containing ACIDS such as Malic acid
...and I'm sry I left out that C4 plants anatomically seperate CO2 fixation and light reactions

*clearly before you try and discredit someones statement you should read a little

Rosh

so..after all that complaining, what were your final scores? i got 760 :)

What you were saying is right except that CAM plants use their stomata more efficiently, not C4.

I got 750 M

Well, thank God. I had no idea what i was doing on that test and got a 720 on Bio E.

I didn't really have complaints-I got a 740 on M

Fair test, curious what I missed, though.

770 I wonder what the curve was

Anybody who got SAT II score >760, which prep book did you use?

I got 780...but was hoping for 800 :( Oh well, I guess there's not that much of a difference...

And I used a little bit of the PR SAT II bio book, but honestly didn't prepare much because I had a very good AP biology teacher this year.

720 for Bio E.. I feel quite bad

I got a 710 from M :(

peachjelly and 714nD1,

Are you two going to retake the test?

760 used CliffsAP, took AP Bio exam as well.

@koolmaria139

Can you PM me or post here questions you think/know you got wrong? I can answer any questions you might have about AP Chem or anything else (if I know about it).

how many of you have already taken AP Bio?
im a freshman who just finished entrance level biology and my teacher wasn't too great.

would you recommend for me to take the test coming up or wait? (im shooting for a 800)
