I've taken 3 SATIIs so far: Math IIC, Chem, and French. I'm done with math and hopefully I'm done with chem, but I didn't do that well on French. I was wondering if I should bother retaking it or if I should just take Literature, which I would probably do better on. Obviously, no colleges require 4 SATIIs (though some of the ones I'm applying to require 3). Thus, would it be to my advantage to take Literature or to try again with French, which I am less comfortable with?

you should take lit if you feel more comfortable with that and then report that score instead of french on your college apps. keep in mind however that colleges see all of your SAT scores when they get the score report from collegeboard. in other words, you can choose which ones to write on the apps, but they will see all of the scores anyway.

Adcoms (almost always) don't care what the test is. They just want to see good scores.

chillaxin, i think you should do french and lit in january, it'll be to your great advantage, and i'm sure you'd improve greatly on the french. and even tho' colleges require max 3 subjects, i think some [e.g. princeton] always consider the whole range of tests taken and not just 2/3 highest scores......where are you applying?

well, theoneo, i hope that will not be so in my case, cos apart from math2 and phy, which were good, and french which chillaxin, i, and other frenchers are hoping will be good, i took US history almost from the blues[having no previous history exp in school+i'm an intl student] and got 660, which i hope will signify my genuine interest in america....i do think they care what the test is....
