SATs

How Are You Rising Juniors Preparing For The SATs Next Year?

Not doing anything until August. At that point, I’m going to do practice tests from the BB weekly, correct them completely, and that’s it.

Cool that’s good to know I need to get me the BB I use it online most if the time but it doesn’t have everything.

I’m working on Grammar rules though

Depends on how I do on the ACT tomorrow. If I get a 34+, I’m not taking an SAT or ACT again.

I feel like the ACT is easier than the SAT

Oops I’m not a rising junior…

Seems like your a senior lol

Well, I just finished Gruber’s SAT Math Workbook and am doing Barron’s Crit Reading Workbook. I also did a little Kaplan, Princeton Review, Rocket Review Revolution, and Barrons PSAT.

I have this bad habit where I get the prep book and complete half of it, and then move on to the next one. I plan to finish the second half of all those books this summer. Plus, I got all my books from the library because I’m too poor to buy my own.

Also, I’m going to get Dr. Chung’s Math book, and College Board’s official BB. And I always always always do the official sat question of the day from CB, they email it to me for free everyday. You should sign up for it on their website.

I’m getting 2000~ nowadays. I want a 2200 by the end of summer. It might sound far-fetched, but it’s worth a try. Happy studying!

I’m going to study Direct Hits, work through Dr. Chung’s and Meltzer’s Writing Guide, check out helpful guides on CC like Silverturtle’s, and take as many practice tests as I can. Shooting for a 2350+ in October so that I can be done forever.

I need to worry about the PSAT before I take the SAT, haha. I got a 204 on the PSAT this year going in cold - which is only about 5 points away from being a semi-finalist in my state. And considering Ivy League and other top colleges have annual tuition that costs more than what my parents make in a year, I DEFINITELY need the scholarship, lol.

I went to a prep class and my score sucked, it was an 1820. I took the June one and I’m waiting for my scores.

Wow! I’m aiming for a 2200 too! I already signed up for CB and I get the question of the day. I just need to buy those books so I can study even More! I’ve been slacking. I got a 180 on my PSAT

Well I’m not trying to get into a Ivy league because I’m a Theatre kid and I want to do musical theatre…but I still don’t want a low score and my worse fear is having to go to community college >_<

I know! Just the thought of going to Kingborough gives me jitters. And I don’t want to go to Medgar Evers or BMCC either.

Kids on CC worrying about having to go to a community college…lol

Lol at studying so much for the SAT. Don’t worry about getting a super high score so much.

Don’t stress out TOO much over the SATs. Those of you sophomores who did “poorly” on practice tests or the PSAT, don’t worry. I had a 30 point improvement in my PSAT in my junior year compared to my sophomore year, and I barely did any prep. Plenty of things can change in a year, and all of you would do well to remember that.

:) lol as long as I get above a 1800 I’m pretty much happy

I’m a sophomore now ( heh heh ) . . . Just got a 2040 on my S.A.T. . . . shooting for AT LEAST 2140 by the end of summer (:

I’m using the Big Blue Book

It’s fabulous.
